Finca Buena Vista $575,000.00
The farm owner and our video helper greet us at the main entrance to this incredible finca. This finca warrants a visit to see and feel the great breezes around these truly spectacular views! Finca Buena Vista is appropriately named! It’s a beauty all the way around! We start our journey off to the first area which features the corral and several flat areas with fruit trees and nice views.
This is a newer corral and is quite roomy! This corral is well constructed and well maintained. Ready for the new rancher to move in with his farm animals and livestock.
Behind the corral and in more flat areas, are several citrus and mango trees. They are beautiful and provide fruit and shade to this area. Not to mention great fruit! I ate a sweet lemon while there and it was great!
Out of the corral area and looking up at the remainder of the property lies the untouched primary forest of La Amistad International Park. This farm is paid subsidies by the Costa Rican government to keep this primary forest in tact.
The hardwood trees in here are worth a tremendous value price wise and forest wise. There is the rare Cocobollo tree amongst these trees. Cocobollo hardwood is believed to have been eliminated for wood products. Cocobollo is a great hardwood for furniture and ceilings. The government would like to see you keep this primary forest on your property, that is why they will pay you to do so, but the choice is ultimately yours as to whether or not you would cut back some of the hardwood growing here. Of course you will need permits to do so, even though it is on your land. We hope that you would keep your primary forest as it also attracts an incredible amount of birds, butterflies and other wonderful wildlife in the forest.
We’re off to check out the top parts of the property and a closer view of the primary forest.
As we head further up the path the views are better than the last! The property is very large and views are easily appreciated when standing on the property! A must see! Plan to spend at least an hour touring this farm! It’s just like planning a nature hike for views and scenery!
On the entire north end of the farm is a public road and public utilities. The road is not in the greatest of shape now, but all the roads into Biolley district are being improved and this finca is a part of the government plan of improved roads. You could bring your road into the corral area as a main entrance to the farm off of the main road that is part of the planned improvement. We entered the farm partially in the Jeep and partially on foot at the south end of the farm and off the main road in Carmen. That road could be developed as well, so that the finca has two main entrances.

Past the tree line lies the public road access and utilties. The corral is at the west end below this photo.
We head up past this point and up to the next landing point toward the top of the property. Beauty is abound in the primary forest above.
We headed south to another spot up above the corral and the garden.
Great views of the finca, corral area and the valley below in the above photo. Remember the property is a very large piece of land so the views here are nothing like standing on the property!
This pasture is well maintained. The pasture consists of quality pasture grass. The farmer keeps his farm in tip-top shape and has worked this land since 1976. He is 76 years of age and he walks to the property from his little house in Carmen at least 3 times a day! He is in better shape than the rest of us and he doesn’t have one inch of body fat on him! That’s what I call living healthy into your twilight years! He feels he is at the point now where he is ready to retire to his little home in Carmen. He has taken very good care of this property. It is a nicely groomed finca, has creeks and streams, nice farm furniture (corral), beautiful views to endlessly enjoy, and great breezes to keep you cool and fresh in the mountain air! Just as in most spots around the district of Biolley the breezes and weather on the Finca Buena Vista, boast of springlike temperatures year round!

This property was absolutely beautiful to tour. It is one of my favorites on the list. I can see a lot of potential in this finca. An eco-tourism hotel would be nice on this property. A 50 acre farm with great views and privacy off of the main road in Carmen. This unique property has quarry rights for the Biolley District. It is near the quarry that is share owned by other operators. It earns a profit from the quarry.
The farm property stretches all along the Caño Indio plants that border the road serve as a living fence for this finca.
Heading off the main road and into the property lies the corral in the distance. This is the pathway into the farm.
Nice valley view to the southwest part of the property and in a very private setting. The walk up to the corral has a nice setting full of tall trees and nice views as you approach the corral.
More valley views off to the south of the property near the corral. The property needs some grooming but is nestled in to a nice spot.
The east side boasts of La Amistad International Park inside the Talamanca mountain range. The land needs some TLC but could be groomed to be a very beautiful piece of property.
More of the property looking back up from near the spring below. The tall line of trees border the property line from above. The corral is near the top part to the right in this photo.
Below is a spring.
The creek is below in this thicket of trees.
The property earns some income and has a lot of potential. It needs some grooming. With a little TLC this finca could be very beautiful! A new crop could go in easily on this property. Build on the flats and enjoy the view. Or build further inside the property for an even more private feel.
Thick green banana plants can be found on the property.
Top 5 Features of Property
1. South side is main road and borders property
2. Utilities at main road
3. Nice views and privacy
4. Titled property and taxes are up to date
5. Income from Quarry and creek on property
This property is a nice piece of property yet to be groomed and cared for once again. The potential exists to make this finca a beautiful piece of property. With a little TLC the finca will make a nice place to build your dream home. Nice views and a lot of privacy here. There is a creek below that provides year round water. Nestled right in at the foot of the Talamancas on the east and valley views on the left make for your viewing pleasure. I am pretty sure once developed this property will be worth quite a bit more than now. * Note: I am not too sure about how the rights to the quarry play out. The farmer tells us he has action in them and that it is being sold along with his finca. Investing in a finca that already makes money is not a bad investment! Step on to this property and see its potential!
