Where’s Biolley?

Biolley, Costa Rica is near San Vito (small city) and very close to the Panamanian border, close to the volcano in Boquete (Panama) and some of the most beautiful beaches in Panama and Costa Rica on the Pacific and Caribbean!

Finca Lilo de Biolley (our farm) has just been added to Google Earth. You have to really click on the area and zoom in to see it, but it’s there on Google Earth (To see it on Google Earth, open Google Earth.) Here is a Google Map I created below with detailed directions to the farm. You should click on the link below the map to clearly see the entire route from San Isidro to Biolley. Click on the blue markers for further explanation. Be sure to let us know when you are coming!

There are two dirt roads to take into Biolley off of Hwy. 237.

3. Continue on the Pan American Hwy.  for a short while more. In approximately twenty minutes from Buenos Aires , you will turn left onto Hwy. 237 at the Paso Real sign.  You should be on the look out for the Paso Real sign as you will make a sharp turn left onto Hwy. 237.  There is a bus stop under a huge tree there. You will see the Coto Brus river and you will cross over a bridge fairly quickly as you enter on the Hwy. 237.

You will need to be on the look out for some tires hanging from a tree on the left side of the Hwy. look for the tire that says : Las Tablas. There is a little restaurant/tienda (store) right across from the tire swings.  Follow the road in. You will travel in off the pavement from Hwy. 237 on a dirt road for approximately 8 miles or 14 kilometers until you reach Biolley. It takes approximately 40 minutes from the paved road on the off road to arrive in Biolley.

5. After some real rough road,  you will come to a “Y” in the road. We have not gone in on the Carmen route (the other dirt road) but we will update you on this route later.  At the “Y” in the road you will see more tire swings and a big fruit stand off to your right. Directly at the “Y”,  look for the tire that says “Biolley” and you will see that you will veer to the left of the “Y” in the road.

You will know you are near Biolley when you see a large sign that says “Bienvenidos a Biolley“.  From there, you will go down  a small steep hill and back up again a little way in from here, you will see the school on the left. It is a bright green two-room building.  Take that road where the school is (left).  Do NOT go straight and then down the hill be sure to take a left at the school. (You might see a sign that says “finca Palo Alto” and that is the road to take.)
