BCRCoffee™

Community Conservation & Kindness In Every Cup!

Coffee’s a comin’! Gettin’ ready for next year’s harvest of 2010.

Already?

We sold all our beans this year to a local processing place. Next year to the world! We are shade grown, with bird habitats, organic in transition,  more than fair trade coffee farmers and Biolley Buzz by BCR Coffee™  is our product. BCRCoffee is named for “Biolley, Costa Rican” coffee. We call our beans “Biolley Buzz”.

The coffee from these parts has a rich robust flavor. It has a buzz to it too! If you prefer a variety of coffee with the rich flavor that most coffee lovers enjoy, we think you will be pleased with Biolley Buzz!

About Ricardo & Rigo The Growers

Just an intro to Ricardo and Rigo- They are a big part of our story. Our farm workers Ricardo & Rigo grow the coffee on our farm. Ricardo and his brother-in-law Rigo,  grew up around the coffee fields in Biolley. Ricardo has no real land to grow coffee and Rigo has a small coffee field on his property. The two have had coffee growing knowledge for decades now by working on other coffee fields. They have really transformed our coffee fields on our first coffee season!

We are setting Ricardo up in his own business (small corporation) this year, to work with our distributor in the United States.  When we found Ricardo, he lived with his wife and two children in a wooden shack on a small piece of land. He now lives  in a new building (a duplex we had built on the farm, gravel road a kilometer in, electricity and municipal water). We bought a Jeep and a cart for Ricardo to use around the farm and for his personal needs. Ricardo’s brother in law Rigo works on our farm full time with Ricardo.  Ricardo keeps 100% of his profits from our organic, shade grown coffee (Biolley Buzz).  In turn, we ask that Ricardo and Rigo maintain our farm.

2010 Harvest-The 2010 harvest will be even a better harvest this year. We are in the process of commencing on the transitional phase of the organic certification this year.

2011 Growing Season-Next year, at the end of the harvest season of 2010,  Rigo and I have planned to grow the fields  using the Kona method. This is so that less work will take place to maintain the fields and more sunlight and shade where needed will occur. Overall, we have found all our organic solutions for our coffee plants and for running our farm and with Ricardo and Rigo’s knowledge of the coffee plants and terrain for them,  we are cultivating some nice beans.  A medium roast gives these green beans a full richness with hints of delightful fruity and chocolatey aromas. We plan to continue our quest to pamper and cultivate our own brand of gourmet coffee to our friends, family and any who wish to try Ricardo’s  special beans from a special part of the world!
