Two coasts so close together? Of course, it’s Costa Rica!

Costa Rica is appropriately named.  The country boasts of two coasts. The Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. We discussed some of the Caribbean in a previous post. This post features the central and southern coast line of Costa Rica. We think it is some of the most beautiful coastline on the Pacific side.

The farm in Biolley, is in such a great spot because of the closeness of both coastlines and the vast differences in each! These coastlines pictured here, are only a few hours from our farm.  A great get away for us and a completely different scenery. We appreciate living in the mountains for the spring like weather year round, but it’s fun to take off to the beach for a couple of three days for a short get away! We feel privileged to own a farm  in such a diverse area with great weather year round! The beach can get very hot and humid, especially on the Pacific side. We are glad we frequent the coastlines in Costa Rica and Panama, but only for visits.

We will tour the island in a few weeks for some snorkeling andhike inside the Corcovado national park. We are planning on teaming up with another  B & B owner in the Osa Peninsula to share a great and very affordable package tour of the La Amistad International park and our B & B on the coffee  farm, for a great southern zone experience in the mountains and the Pacific coast of Costa Rica!  Pura Vida!

Thank you for this post. It is most informative. I love the picture of Uvita! Of course the Pacific has a very special place in our hearts but so will the Caribbean after we visit there several times….Pura Vida

  4. Jennifer-what a wonderful lifestyle you’ve chosen and in such a beautiful place! Come the end of your days I don’t think you’ll have many regrets. Weather’s been horrible in NY this winter, windy, snowy, gray. So seeing these pictures is a wonderful reminder of spring and summer to come. My daughter lives on the California coast, and we’ll be visiting her in a couple of weeks, so that’ll afford a pleasant change. Take care! Keep in touch.
